Russian troops validate exit from northern Mali town following separatist assaults

In the town of Tessit, located to the south of Gao, JNIM reported that Mali’s military had capitulated to their fighters, as per Reuters. Their announcement specified that they were permitting Malian troops to surrender their arms and retreat safely. The military has yet to respond to these assertions, which the BBC is unable to verify independently.
