A TikTok-inspired vertical video feed is set to launch on the platform later this year.

Disney Plus will introduce a vertical video feed this year, announced Disney during its Global Tech & Data Showcase for advertisers at CES.
According to an interview with Erin Teague, Disney’s EVP of product management for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, Deadline reveals that vertical video on the app may feature “original short-form content, repurposed social media clips, reimagined scenes from longer episodes or films, or a mix of these.”
“Imagine all the short-form Disney content you desire in a single centralized app,” Teague remarked during Wednesday’s presentation. “Gradually, we’ll enhance the experience as we investigate uses for various formats, categories, and types of content to create a dynamic feed tailored to your interests — including Sports, News, and Entertainment — updated in real time following your last visit.”
In the previous year, Disney introduced a vertical video tab named “Verts” to its significantly redesigned ESPN app. Additionally, Netflix has been testing a vertical video feed featuring excerpts from Netflix shows and films — it’s not the first time the company has experimented with this format.
