A vertical video feed reminiscent of TikTok is set to launch on the platform later this year.

Disney Plus will receive a vertical video feed later this year, according to an announcement made by Disney during its Global Tech & Data Showcase for advertisers at CES.
Informed by an interview with Erin Teague, Disney’s EVP of product management for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, Deadline reports that the vertical videos in the app might feature “original short-form programming, repurposed social clips, reimagined scenes from longer shows or movies, or a blend of these.”
“Envision all the short-form Disney content you’ve ever wished for in a single app,” Teague remarked during Wednesday’s showcase. “In the future, we will enhance the experience as we investigate various formats, categories, and content types for a lively feed tailored to your interests — spanning Sports, News, and Entertainment — continuously updated in real-time based on your previous interactions.”
Previously, Disney introduced a vertical video section named “Verts” to its significantly revamped ESPN app. Netflix is also experimenting with a vertical video feed showcasing clips from its shows and films — and this isn’t the first time the platform has trialed this format.
