Following the launch of age verification last year, Roblox seeks to increase the number of players over 18 on its platform. According to its 2025 year-end earnings report, 45 percent of Roblox’s daily active users had completed an age verification by January 31st. Out of those who have authenticated their age, 27 percent are adults. Roblox also indicated that this age group is spending more money on its platform compared to users younger than 18.
Roblox plans to attract more adult players by enhancing selected “high-fidelity” genres on its platform, as indicated in the earnings report: “We are prioritizing some of the major and highest-monetizing genres in the gaming sector—such as Shooters, RPGs, and Sports & Racing.” Additionally, Roblox is increasing its focus on performance and graphical quality to engage older audiences.
The move towards players over 18 comes after a series of lawsuits concerning child safety on Roblox, including in Texas, Kentucky, and Louisiana. In addition to age checks, Roblox has implemented several modifications designed to enhance children’s safety on its platform, which include age-restricted content, content labels, an experience rating system, and enhanced parental controls.
