Although Black Friday hasn’t arrived yet, Sony has already launched a fantastic holiday promotion that will run until December 18th. The ongoing discount includes everything from PlayStation 5 consoles to the latest Sony accessories, such as the standard DualSense Wireless Controller, which is now available at its lowest price of $54.99 ($20 off) in various colors at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.

While the mentioned deal applies to Sony’s standard editions — which include the popular black and white versions — limited edition designs inspired by Astro Bot (Walmart / Best Buy), God of War (Amazon / Walmart), and Ghost of Yōtei (Walmart / Best Buy) can be purchased for around $64 (also a $20 discount). The controllers are priced slightly higher than the basic versions, but you’ll find they are still $10 less than the regular price of a standard DualSense.

The DualSense will seem recognizable to longtime PlayStation enthusiasts, but it boasts significant features that distinguish it from the previous DualShock controllers from Sony. One notable feature is the haptic feedback of the wireless controller, enhancing the immersion of gameplay. For instance, you can experience subtle vibrations on different sides of the controller as a character traverses through sand. Additionally, the triggers feature adjustable resistance, making it necessary to apply more pressure during specific gameplay moments in certain titles. It’s an excellent feature that we wish more game developers could implement.

In terms of essential features, the DualSense provides textured grips and comes equipped with a built-in microphone that allows for online player communication without the need for a headset. An alternative option is to connect a wired headset (or headphones) through the controller’s 3.5mm audio jack. It charges with USB-C, which is no surprise, and can last for up to eight hours, which is generally sufficient for most gaming sessions. Although it is incompatible with other consoles, it can be used with a Mac or PC via Bluetooth or by connecting with a USB-C cable.
