Americans visiting the majority of European nations will have their fingerprints captured as part of a new system.

Under a new entry-exit framework, travelers heading to many European nations will need to submit four fingerprints and a facial photograph at a self-service kiosk. This data will be retained for three years, with the image utilized for identity confirmation on future visits.
