The speculated “HomePod featuring a display” that has been the subject of much conversation was reportedly set for a 2025 release, then for this spring, and now, as per the latest reports, it has been postponed until this fall. Leaker Kosutami shared this information on X last week, and today, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman confirmed similar details, indicating its robot arm-equipped variant is now expected to be launched in 2027.
Per Gurman, the J490 smart home display / HomePad is awaiting Apple to finalize its AI upgrade for Siri.
This update was supposed to be completed by now, but it is now anticipated to be delivered later this year, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro plus the updates for iOS, macOS, and more scheduled for 2027. He describes a device featuring a silver aluminum casing, a 7-inch display, and a USB-C power connector operating on a version of tvOS 27, while updated models of the HomePod speaker and Apple TV 4K box are also poised for that Siri upgrade, along with a smart home sensor under development as well.
