UN declares Sudan atrocities as ‘characteristics of genocide’

“The compilation of evidence we gathered — encompassing the extended siege, famine and obstruction of humanitarian aid, succeeded by widespread killings, sexual violence, torture and enforced disappearances, systematic degradation and admissions from the perpetrators themselves – leads to a singular logical conclusion,” stated fact-finding mission specialist Mona Rishmawi. “The RSF operated with the aim to annihilate, partially or entirely, the Zaghawa and Fur populations in El-Fasher. These actions are characteristic of genocide.”
