Valve has revised the Steam Deck website to indicate that the Steam Deck OLED might be out of stock “intermittently in certain regions due to shortages in memory and storage.” The handheld PC gaming device has been out of stock in the US and various global locations for a few days, and this update explains the reason behind it.

This update follows shortly after Valve postponed the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller from their intended shipping schedule in early 2026 due to the memory and storage issues. “We need to finalize concrete pricing and launch dates that we can confidently announce, considering how rapidly the situations regarding both can evolve,” Valve stated in a statement regarding that announcement from earlier this month.

The aim is to introduce that new hardware sometime within the first half of 2026, and the company is striving to finalize its strategies “as quickly as possible.”

Valve’s website also indicates that the company has ceased production of the 256GB LCD Steam Deck, a decision that was announced last year.
