The PC gaming handheld has been unavailable in the US for the past few days.

Valve has refreshed the Steam Deck webpage stating that the Steam Deck OLED might experience “intermittent unavailability in specific areas due to shortages in memory and storage.” The PC gaming handheld has been out of stock in the US and various regions globally for a number of days, and this update clarifies the reason behind it.
This notification follows closely after Valve postponed the launch of the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller from an anticipated release period of early 2026 due to the memory and storage issues. “We have tasks to tackle to finalize concrete pricing and launch timelines that we can confidently announce, being aware of how rapidly the conditions surrounding both can alter,” Valve remarked in a notice regarding that announcement from earlier this month.
Their aim is to release that new hardware within the first half of 2026, and the company is striving to finalize its arrangements “as swiftly as possible.”
Valve’s official site further mentions that the company has ceased production of the 256GB LCD Steam Deck, a decision that was announced late last year.
