An enjoyable evening with a new person … ideally good conversation without too much awkwardness.

Warm, amiable, and charismatic.

What didn’t we cover? We talked about the dating scene, our travel adventures, amusing personal anecdotes, and beloved British TV personalities.
Most awkward moment?
When we both got there simultaneously and hovered at the door trying to figure out if we were each other’s date … yet feeling too shy to inquire.
Good table manners?
Absolutely.
Best thing about Ioan?
I honestly can’t choose just one … I found Ioan to be an exceptional individual and appreciated his vibrant and kind-hearted spirit.

A refreshing experience compared to lackluster, app-driven dates. Clearly, letting a national newspaper manage your love life is the solution.

Striking bangs and an even more striking intellect.
What did you talk about?
The essentials of a first date from A-Z.
Most awkward moment?
Arriving at the eatery and noticing the only other solitary diner, but being too intimidated to inquire if it was Hannah.
Good table manners?
Impeccable olive-skewering skills and generous with the wine.
Best thing about Hannah?
She was easy to converse with – there was a welcome absence of tiresome small talk.

I think every circle could use a Hannah.

For the initial 15 minutes, she might have questioned why the Guardian sent her a somewhat disheveled version of an adult. After that, hopefully interesting enough association.

We tried out a pub’s questionable house red.

Not at all! Saving that for after marriage.
